School holds healthy field day, hoses principal

California, MD – Town Creek Elementary School (TCES) held a “Healthy Habits Field Day” Friday morning, May 22.

Among the events were the breakfast sampling station, “healthy hula hoops,” “it’s no joke, don’t smoke;” muscles, muscles make us move; and calcium crunch.

The always popular “Power-wash the Principal” celebration culminated the day’s events. Principal Marie Hankinson was the object of the power-washing participants. The platform and water were provided by volunteer firefighters from Bay District Volunteer Fire Department.

The healthy breakfast sampling was provided by a grant obtained from “Share Our Strength, No Kid Hungry.”
