Mechanicsville, MD – As the 2014 -2015 school year was winding down, students, teachers and parents enjoyed a day of fun and physical exercise at Mechanicsville Elementary School (MES). The event was held Friday, June 12 at the St. Mary’s County elementary school.
The activities planned helped the students associate exercise with a variety of health-related fitness components, such as cardiovascular fitness, flexibility and muscular strength, and endurance.
Activities related to the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life “Relay Recess” were implemented. The students clearly enjoyed the day’s activities and smiling for the camera, as evidenced by the images captured by The Bay Net photojournalist Ron Bailey.
