INDIAN HEAD, Md. – On October 27, school administrators found a 12-year-old student at Matthew Henson Middle School in possession of a vaping device containing THC. The school resource officer charged the student on a juvenile civil citation with possession of drugs.

The student also faces school consequences for violating the student code of conduct for Charles County Public Schools. Parents are urged to talk with their students about the dangers of consuming products that may contain unknown substances and may cause serious health risks.

The CCSO was accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) in 2001 and has since earned the highest rating of Excellence. Established in 1658, the CCSO is one of the oldest law enforcement agencies in the United States.
