ANNAPOLIS, Md. – On July 28 at 1:05 a.m., police responded to the 500 block of South Cherry Grove Avenue.

Three adult victims were sitting inside a parked vehicle when they were approached by a male suspect who knocked on the window. After one of the victims lowered the vehicle window the suspect pointed a handgun at the occupants and ordered them out of the vehicle. A second male suspect arrived and pointed a gun at the victims while the first suspect demanded money and took their wallets. Then the suspects fled the area on foot.

Detectives were able to identify the suspect who first approached the vehicle as Jariq Downs, 16, of Annapolis and obtained an arrest warrant for him. On July 28 at 9:20 p.m. Downs was located in the 1100 block of Madison Street and arrested. Downs was charged as an adult with seventeen criminal counts relating to the armed robbery. Downs is being held without bond at the Jennifer Road Detention Center.
