Brandywine, MD – The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal motorcycle collision in Brandywine. The victim is 39-year-old Dempsey Herring Jr. of Waldorf.

On April 29,2020, at approximately 9:20 pm, patrol officers were called to Brandywine Road and Lee Acres Drive for the report of a single-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle.

The preliminary investigation revealed Herring was traveling southbound on Brandywine Road when for reasons that remain under investigation, he crossed the double yellow line, left the roadway and ultimately struck a pole. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
