OWINGS, Md. — One person was trapped and four total patients were injured in a multi-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon at Chaneyville Road and Southern Maryland Boulevard in Owings. The accident was reported to the BayNet around 1:53 p.m. on September 13, 2025.
The Owings multi-vehicle crash required extrication equipment to free the trapped victim from their vehicle. Calvert County emergency units responded to the intersection for the confirmed entrapment situation involving multiple patients.
Emergency crews worked to extract the trapped occupant while providing medical care to three additional patients at the scene. The four-patient incident required coordination between multiple emergency medical units to handle the casualties.
Details about the severity of injuries or hospital transports have not been released. The cause of the multi-vehicle collision remains under investigation. Traffic in the area was affected while emergency crews worked at the crash scene.
