The Best Place to Hide Your Crack? – Not in Your Sock

At 7:17 p.m. Dec. 16, TFC McLean of the Leonardtown barrack observed a vehicle being operated on Mervell Dean Road south of Old Three Notch Road, Hollywood, with a rear registration light not working and the tag was barely visible.

The driver was identified as Joseph Donald Thompson, 32, of Mechanicsville. A check through Miles/NCIC showed Thompson’s driving privilege was suspended.

Thompson was placed under arrest and a search incident to arrest was conducted. A bag containing crack cocaine was found in his left sock. A field test was conducted, giving a positive result for the presence of cocaine.

Thompson was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center, charged with Possession of Crack Cocaine and was held pending a bail review.
