
CHARLOTTE HALL, Md. — Firefighters battled a working fire at a sawmill in Charlotte Hall Thursday evening.
The fire was reported around 5:00 p.m. on June 25, 2026, in the 8060 block of Beethoven Place.
Multiple callers reported smoke and fire in the area. One caller reported seeing black smoke, while another advised that a sawmill was on fire.
Firefighters arrived and requested a working fire upgrade. Crews reported smoke in the area and began laying out hose lines as additional units were dispatched to the scene.

Command later reported a barn or similar structure, estimated at about 30 feet by 30 feet, was involved in fire.
Crews were operating in an exterior mode only, and no personnel were operating inside the structure.
Additional water supply operations were established, including a secondary water source at Gilbert Run.
