As part of their annual training trip in Florida, the St. Maryโs College menโs and womenโs swimming teams competed in the annual Delray Beach Ocean Mile Swim on January 7.ย The swim featured 350 competitors representing over 10 colleges and universities as well as local area swimmers of all ages.

On the menโs side, freshman Cameron Buckingham (Silver Spring /Blake) was the Seahawks top finisher as Buckingham came in the 24th spot overall.ย The next top finisher for SMCM was sophomore Joseph Quase (Montgomery Village /Good Counsel) who took 35th in the race.

Sophomore Natalie Schaefer (Newtown, PA/Council Rock North) paced the women as Schaefer finished 110th, while junior captain Caitlin Moore (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) was right behind Schaefer, taking 111th.
