An improvised incendiary device was found Sunday, May 4 in Huntingtown, state officials reported. According to the Maryland State Fire Marshalโs Office, the device was located in a metal mailbox at a residence on Holland Cliffs Road shortly before 3 p.m.
There were no injuries reported and no indication from investigators that the device exploded.ย The occupant of the house made the discovery and notified police.
โAnyone who lives along Holland Cliffs Road who observed an unusual vehicle or pedestrian traffic during the day on May 4 is asked to contact the State Fire Marshal, Southern Regional Office at 443-550-6820,โ stated Dfm. J. Ray.
The Calvert County Sheriffโs Office assisted in the investigation.
