Patrons this year at Maryland International Raceway in Budds Creek will be able to enjoy the races with a can of beer. The St. Maryโ€™s Alcohol Beverage Board Thursday approved a beer license for several locations on the facility.

The applicant, Donna Gagnon trading as MIR Beer, applied for a new license. A previous license for the facility had been allowed to lapse. Gagnon told the board she would serve beer inside the Hot Rods Diner and from a cart just outside the diner for smaller events. For larger events, with crowds of more than 2,000, she would sell from two mobile carts at separate locations.

In an otherwise quick and routine meeting, the board unanimously approved the license. The board also approved an extension of premises to allow Back Road Inn to sell from a mobile serving counter at the ball field across the street.

The board also approved a name change from Dennis Point marina and Watermenโ€™s Creekside to Dennis Point Marina and Campground and Rickโ€™s Riverside restaurant.

And, the board also approved an additional 90-day extension for Twist Wine and Spirits for their addition which will include a separately operated cafรฉ which also has secured a license.
