White Plains, MD โ€“ย Two small boys who fell out of a window while playing inside a house Sunday, April 19 sustained injuries as a result of the incident. Both youths were flown to a Washington, DC-area hospital, police in Charles County reported.

Charles County Sheriffโ€™s Office spokeswoman Diane Richardson said the accident happened around 5 p.m. at a house on Stonybrook Road in White Plains.

Richardson said the boys, ages 3 and 7, were in a room when one of the boys pushed on a window screen. Both the boy who pushed the screen and other child, who was hanging onto him, fell 10 to 12 feet onto a wooden deck. A neighbor, who heard the boys fall, went to help and quickly called emergency responders to the scene.

Richardson told The Bay Net the youths were โ€œconscious, alert and talkingโ€ when they were evaluated at the scene by emergency medical personnel and were flown by helicopter to a hospital as a precaution. The injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

The homeโ€™s interior is being remodeled and the windows were all open to air out the house.
