PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. – During the week of August 30 – September 5, deputies of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to 1,554 calls for service throughout the community.
Theft: 21-49625
On September 2, 2021, Deputy Freeland responded to the Quality Inn located at 255 Lore Road in Solomons, MD for report of a theft. The complainant advised unknown suspect(s) boarded his boat at the marina and stole two fishing rods. The rods are black in color, one with a red stripe and the other with a chartreuse stripe. Both fishing rods are valued at approximately $180.00 per rod. The total value of stolen property is $360.
Theft: 21-48969
On August 30, 2021, DFC Burgraff responded to the Exxon station located at 11805 HG Trueman Road in Lusby, MD for report of a theft. The complainant advised he was inside gas station and when he returned to his unlocked vehicle, approximately $400 had been stolen from his van.
ARRESTS:

Nicholas Presson Kaine, 42
On Sept. 3, 2021, F/Sgt. Basham conducted a traffic stop in the 10600 block of Southern Maryland Blvd. in Dunkirk, MD on a vehicle travelling 86mph in a 55mph zone. The driver of the vehicle, Nicholas Presson Kaine, 42 of Dunkirk, MD advised there was marijuana in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed, a cut plastic straw, a cut plastic pen with suspected heroin residue and a crushed capsule of suspected heroin. Kaine was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with CDS: Possession of Paraphernalia and CDS: Possession-Not Marijuana.

Michael Earl Keens-Dumas, 39
On September 4, 2021, Deputy Savick conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Southern Maryland Blvd. and Miss Sams Way in Huntingtown, MD for the reported stolen tags. The driver, Michael Earl Keens-Dumas, 39 of Baltimore, MD, exited the vehicle and was placed under arrest. Keens-Dumans was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with Theft: $100 to Under $1500.

Johnie Edwin Lambert, 61
On August 30, 2021, Deputy Mason responded to the area of Bricoes Turn Road and Southern Maryland Blvd. in Owings, MD for a traffic complaint. Callers reported a vehicle was weaving all over the roadway, traveling 10 MPH in the travel portion of the highway. A second caller reported the driver to be in the middle of the road out of the vehicle. Upon arrival, Deputy Mason located the driver and sole occupant, Johnie Edwin Lambert, 61 of Chesapeake Beach, MD, holding on to the rear of his vehicle. Deputy Mason observed a small baggy of cigarettes and suspected PCP in plain view on the passenger seat. Lambert was transported to the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office where he was charged with CDS: Possession-Not Marijuana, Driving/Attempting to Driver Vehicle While Impaired by Controlled Dangerous Substance, Reckless and Negligent Driving.

William Ross Campo III, 35
On September 4, 2021, Deputy Wilder conducted a traffic stop in the area of Rt. 4 and Southern Connector Blvd. in Lusby, MD. Upon making contact with the driver, William Ross Campo III, 35 of Baltimore, MD, a moderate odor of marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. Campo failed to provide identification to the deputy. A search of the vehicle was conducted and revealed 3 bags containing suspected marijuana and one bag containing suspected crack/cocaine, 5 capsules containing suspected heroin and a crack pipe. Campo was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with CDS: Possession-Not Marijuana and CDS: Possession of Paraphernalia.

Ronald Matthew Morgan, 42
On Aug. 30, 2021, DFC Crum responded to the WaWa gas station located at 10205 Kirksville Lane in Dunkirk, MD for a welfare check. Upon arrival, Deputy Crum observed a vehicle with both the driver and passenger slouched over. Deputy Crum knocked loudly and reputedly with no response. Contact was eventually made with the passenger identified as Ronald Matthew Morgan, 42 of Mechanicsville, MD. Morgan exited the vehicle and was having difficulty standing up. Morgan was observed to be lethargic and had slurred speech. A search of the vehicle revealed a clear, plastic, Ziploc bag with a white powdery substance of suspected heroin and a paper straw. Morgan was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with CDS: Possession-Not Marijuana.

Alphonso Richardo Thomas, 54
On September 5, 2021, DFC Burgraff and Deputy Durnbaugh were dispatched to report of a traffic complaint for a vehicle swerving all over the roadway and into oncoming traffic in the area of the Thomas Johnson Bridge in Solomons, MD. Deputies were able to locate the aforementioned vehicle and observed it being operated in an unsafe manner. DFC Burgraff conducted a traffic stop on Solomons Island Road and Flag Ponds Parkway in Lusby, MD. Contact was made with the driver, Alphonso Richardo Thomas, 54 of Ft. Washington, MD who agreed to a Standardized Field Sobriety Test. During a search of Thomas’s person, a clear baggie containing suspected marijuana and brass knuckles were found. Thomas was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with Concealing a Dangerous Weapon and other traffic related charges.
