LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — The Newtowne Players are set to open their latest production, “Witness for the Prosecution,” this weekend at Three Notch Theatre. The show will run from Feb. 7 through Feb. 23, with performances at 8 p.m. on Thursdays through Saturdays and 3 p.m. on Sundays.
Agatha Christie’s classic courtroom drama follows Leonard Vole, who stands accused of murdering a wealthy widow. With shocking witness testimony, impassioned courtroom outbursts, and high-stakes twists, the suspenseful thriller promises to keep audiences guessing until the very end.
“Witness for the Prosecution” is widely regarded as one of Christie’s most accomplished plays and is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals.
The performance has a PG content advisory for its murder mystery themes and runs for two hours and 15 minutes, including a 15-minute intermission. Doors open 30 minutes before each show.
