On Oct. 8 at 1:17 a.m., a Charles County Sheriff’s officer initiated a traffic stop on Crain Highway near State Route 5 in Waldorf after observing a traffic violation.
The driver of the vehicle refused to stop and fled toward Berry Road. The driver lost control of his car, hit a curb and struck a police car. The occupants of the vehicle fled on foot but were apprehended a short distance away. A computer check revealed the car had just been stolen from Waldorf.
The two suspects, 17-year-old males from Waldorf, were charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle and remanded to Cheltenham. Corporal D. Byrd handled the arrest.
