Waldorf, MD — Quick-thinking citizens and first responders were honored with a ceremony Sunday at the Waldorf Volunteer Fire Department for their efforts in saving a man’s life.

The Waldorf Rescue Squad shared photos of the ceremony on their Facebook page Monday.

Back in April when a man suffered cardiac arrest, his family and bystanders jumped into action to initiate CPR until EMS units arrived. Thanks to  the efforts of all involved, he was able to attend the ceremony honoring all of the people who took part in saving his life.

The bystanders who provided CPR were presented with the Charles County Citizen Life Saving Award and first responders received Waldorf Volunteer Fire Department Life Saving Awards.
