The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office received complaints of prostitution occurring at Myrtle Point Park in California.

The case was assigned to the Vice Narcotics Division for further investigation. During the course of the investigation it was discovered that Myrtle Point Park was being utilized for same sex sexual encounters, however, no arrests were made.

One subject was identified after he offered to perform a sex act with the undercover officer. The contact with that subject did not meet the criteria for prostitution. He was issued a notice not to trespass and immediately removed from the park.

We encourage all citizens to contact the Sheriff’s Office to report suspicious incidents or criminal activity. The Vice Narcotics Division will continue to monitor Myrtle Point Park and all of the parks throughout St. Mary’s County to ensure that these areas remain safe and free from illicit activities.
