OXON HILL, Md. – The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run in Oxon Hill.  Investigators are actively working to identify the victim who is an African American male approximately in his 30’s. Investigators are also working to locate the striking vehicle which fled the scene. It’s described as a white pickup truck that had a ladder on the top or side.

On Feb. 8, at about 7:00 pm, patrol officers were called to the intersection of St. Barnabas Road and Wheeler Road for the report of a pedestrian collision. The victim was taken to the hospital where he died a short time later.

The preliminary investigation indicates the pickup truck was turning left onto Wheeler Road from eastbound St. Barnabas Road when it struck the victim who was in a crosswalk.
