Lexington Park, MD— On Jan.4, St.Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Dfc.Trevor Teague was on routine patrol when he was approachedย by a victim in regards to an assaultย that had just occurred.ย
The victim advised she was at her residence at Flower Drive, Lexington Park with her boyfriend when her ex-boyfriend–identified in court documents as Harold C.Garner Jr., 23, of no fixed address–“broke into the residence by unknown means and pointed a gun at them both while threatening to kill them.”
The victims stated they were asleep in their bed when they were awakened by Garner. “Garner was standing on top of them and pointing a black handgun at them threatening to shoot and kill them both,” Teague stated in court documents.ย
One of the victims stated that she believedย the handgunย to be real, and she was in fear for her life. The same victim advised, “Garner threatenedย to kill them he fled out the front door of the residence on foot,” according to charging documents.ย
The victim also advised that as Garner was leaving out of the front door he, “picked up a pogo stick from the front yard and smashed out the windshield of her vehicle,” according to charging documents.ย
Teague was able to confirm an active protective order to be in place against Garner to not to have contact with the victim in this case.ย
Garner has been charged with violation of an ex parte protective order, two counts of assault first degree, home invasion, firearm use in the commission of a felony, and maliciously destruction of property.ย
Garner has a tentativeย preliminary hearing scheduled for March.17 at the St.Mary’s County District Court. Garner faces a maximum jail sentence of 95 years and five months and/or a maximum fine of $1,500.ย
Garner had a bond hearing scheduled for Feb.19. However, bail was not set by Judge. Christy Holt Chesser of the St.Mary’s County District Court.ย
