LUSBY, Md. — A house fire caused significant damage to a single-family home Thursday evening, April 23, 2026, in Lusby.

Firefighters responded around 5:46 p.m. to the 3100 block of Calvert Boulevard in the Cove Point Beach community for a reported structure fire.

Initial reports indicated the fire began in the kitchen of the one-story residence. The occupant was able to exit the home safely, and no injuries were reported.

As crews arrived, the fire had already spread throughout the home, with flames through the roof. Heavy hoarding conditions inside the residence were also reported.

Firefighters worked to bring the blaze under control while establishing a water supply from a nearby hydrant.

The fire has since been extinguished. The extent of damage to the home was not immediately released, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
