The Charles County Sheriffโ€™s Office is asking for the publicโ€™s help in identifying the suspect in a theft investigation. Charles County Crime Solvers is offering a reward for information that leads to an arrest.

On June 17 at 5:44 p.m., officers responded to a report of a theft at an office building in the 2600 block of Crain Highway in Waldorf. The investigation revealed the suspect entered an office and stole a wallet from a purse while it was unattended. The victim returned to the office and encountered the suspect, who fled with her wallet. The suspect entered a vehicle outside and fled north on Crain Highway.

The suspect later attempted to purchase items with the victimโ€™s credit cards but was unsuccessful. He was captured on video surveillance and his photograph has been posted on the Charles County Sheriffโ€™s Officeโ€™s Web site, www.ccso.us. He is described as a black male in his early 20s wearing a gray shirt and gray sneakers.
