On June 17 at 5:44 p.m., officers responded to a report of a theft at an office building in the 2600 block of Crain Highway in Waldorf. The investigation revealed the suspect entered an office and stole a wallet from a purse while it was unattended. The victim returned to the office and encountered the suspect, who fled with her wallet. The suspect entered a vehicle outside and fled north on Crain Highway.
The suspect later attempted to purchase items with the victimโs credit cards but was unsuccessful. He was captured on video surveillance and his photograph has been posted on the Charles County Sheriffโs Officeโs Web site, www.ccso.us. He is described as a black male in his early 20s wearing a gray shirt and gray sneakers.
