At 3:15 a.m. Nov. 5, Sgt. Duckworth of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office observed a silver passenger car traveling south on Rt. 5 at a high rate of speed.
She attempted to conduct a traffic stop near Post Office Road but the vehicle accelerated and turned onto Post Office Road and then down a residential street, where the driver parked in a parking space and turned off his headlights.
He was subsequently arrested and identified as Ayodele Oluwafemi Abina, 27, of Washington, D.C. Abina was charged with fleeing and eluding police, speeding and reckless operation.
