On Wednesday, November 30, 2011, at approximately 6:30 am, there was a report of an auto accident at Route 4 and Route 2 split overturned vehicle.  Later it was reported as a dump truck.  The Huntingtown Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad (Co. 6) responded with their ambulance and the Dunkirk VFD Squad (Co. 5) and ambulance also responded.

The driver got out of truck and there was some minor fuel spilled, which was controlled with the salt load that had been spilled on the road from the truck load as firefighters spread the material out. The southbound lane had to be closed until the truck can be removed and the load spill is cleared from the highway.

The driver was transported to Calvert Memorial Hospital. Calvert Sheriff’s Office is handling traffic control.
