MECHANICSVILLE, Md. —— Emergency crews responded to Maryland International Raceway Saturday evening after a 2-year-old boy reportedly fell approximately 6 feet from the bleachers.
The incident was reported around 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 22 at the raceway, located on Budds Creek Road in Mechanicsville.
According to emergency dispatch information, first responders requested a medical helicopter for the child following the fall. Crews also worked to establish a landing zone for the helicopter.
The child was transported by Maryland State Police Trooper 7 to Children’s Hospital for treatment.
The extent of the child’s injuries was not immediately available.
Fire and EMS personnel remained involved in the response.
