LUSBY, Md. — One of Calvert County’s youngest pageant contestants came home with an impressive set of awards and held onto her title as Miss Calvert after competing in the National American Miss pageant over the weekend.
Baylee Wroten successfully defended her Miss Calvert title from last year and secured a spot at the national pageant. In addition to winning Miss Calvert, Wroten won the Miss Personality Award and was the first runner-up in the talent competition. She also earned runner-up awards in Fun Fitness, Top Model and Most Photogenic.
Wroten headed to the competition with her mind set on winning the Miss Maryland title, for which she placed as first runner-up at the 2025 pageant. This year, she finished as a semifinalist for Miss Maryland.
Wroten’s mother shared in an email to The BayNet that Baylee said she thought she did “really good” but that the best part was making new friends and spending time with them after the pageant.
“She says she’s going to win it next year for sure,” Elizabeth Wroten wrote. “She’s excited to see her new friends at nationals and hopes she becomes your national queen!”
Wroten will now spend her time getting ready for the national pageant in November. She qualified for nationals last year with her Miss Calvert title. In the next four months, Wroten will be busy preparing for the pageant and working to secure sponsorships so she can attend and, hopefully, make more new friends and her dreams of victory come true.
“She did amazing,” Elizabeth Wroten said. “We are proud of her for sure. She’s an amazing little girl.”
