Congratulations to St. Mary’s County’s own Deb Rey…

Deb Rey, candidate for Delegate for District 29B, was spotlighted in the March GOP online newsletter from Maryland State GOP Chair Diana Waterman. Deb Rey promises that if elected, she will fight to lower taxes and fees and will oppose any new taxes or fees proposed. She will work to cut programs to reduce the size of government and the stranglehold it has on our lives. To learn more about Deb’s campaign you may contact debreyfordelegate.com/.

And Deb, congratulations for having had the “best month in St. Mary’s County”! (to paraphrase The Washington Times’ Chris Cillizza’s Worst Week in Washington column title). St. Mary’s College of Maryland Associate Professor of Political Science Todd Eberly, in his Letter to the Editor in the March 12 edition of The Enterprise, encouraged voters to elect the incumbent (D) in the race for Delegate from District 29B. Subsequently, three Letters to the Editor ran in the March 21 edition of The Enterprise in opposition to Mr. Eberly’s viewpoint. One of the three letters was signed by the St. Mary’s County Republican Central Committee Chair Mary Burke-Russell and the members of the SMC RCC; it pointed out that Mr. Eberly’s line of reasoning seems to be an endorsement of perpetual incumbency. That letter continued on to say that “It is time for Maryland to have a government of two parties, and not just one. The citizens of District 29B deserve to have a legislator who looks out for their interests and pays attention to what they want and need. Deb Rey would be such a legislator.” So congratulations, Deb, for having had the best month, politically speaking, in St. Mary’s County, Md.!

Kudos to…

Joe Stanalonis, St. Mary’s County Assistant State’s Attorney and former candidate for St. Mary’s
