The Republican Party is alive and well throughout the Old Line State. Maryland is a red state! Elected Republicans outnumbered Democrats by 161 to 155. There are 12 Maryland counties with a Republican voter registration majority (including St. Maryโ€™s County!). And in their respective races, Mitt Romney, Bob Ehrlich, and John McCain won 17 of the 24 Maryland counties!

To help make Maryland red all over, MDGOP Chair Diana Waterman encourages you to join the Pathfinders Program. This program has been training candidates, volunteers, central committees, and club members. There is a great need for more Republicans state-wide who are well-versed in the campaign process.

Collins Bailey (MDGOP Vice-Chair and Charles County Republican Central Committee member) is issuing a call for candidates for the following races: Federal, Statewide, State Senate, State Delegate, and county.

Democrats are leaving their party in droves. Rather than joining the Independents or Unaffiliateds, this is the opportune time for those who might be ready to switch parties to help increase membership in the Republican Party to assure having a voice in the Maryland primaries which are scheduled for June, 2014.

The next Pathfinders Training Seminar is scheduled for Worcester County on July 20 and will be held at the Ocean Pines Golf and Country Club. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the seminar itself runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (As if anyone needed an excuse to go to the ocean this month!). You may call (410) 263-2125 and ask for MDGOP Executive Director David Ferguson to sign up. Cost of the session is $35.

February 28, 2014 is the last filing date for the 2014 elections. Collins Bailey is encouraging potential candidates so that every race is contested. To help make Maryland red all over you may sign up for the Pathfinders Program at www.mdgop.org/pathfinders (or send email to info@mdgop.org) or you may contact Collins Bailey at (301)274-4116 or at collinsbailey@aol.com.

You may vote in the Red Maryland Poll for July through 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 18. Question topics include: the 2014 Maryland Governorโ€™s Race; the 2016 Presidential Race; the Presidential scandals; and potential constitutional amendments. Access brian@briangriffiths.com to take the survey.
