
CLEMENTS, Md. — Firefighters and other emergency personnel responded Friday evening to a residential structure fire involving what appeared to be a fifth-wheel camper in the 24600 block of Horse Shoe Road in Clements.
The fire was reported at about 5:05 p.m., Feb. 6, 2026, and was found to be well involved upon arrival, with flames threatening a second nearby camper. Crews quickly began fire suppression efforts, establishing an attack line and working to protect surrounding exposures.
The fire was knocked down, and emergency personnel remained on scene to handle overhaul and ensure the fire did not spread. Water supply operations were also established to support suppression efforts.
The incident was contained to the immediate area, and no additional structures were reported damaged. The occupants were not home at the time of the fire, and a neighbor was able to remove a dog, which was not injured. The Red Cross was requested to assist.
No injuries were immediately reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
