The roar of jet engines announced the arrival of the Latest Joint Strike Fighter to Pax River Saturday, Nov. 6 as the first F-35C arrived at 2:37 p.m.

Pilot David “Doc” Nelson took off from Joint Reserve Base Forth Worth, TX., at 1131 and steered a course for Pax River. En route, CF-01 conducted successful aerial refuelings at a maximum load of 19,800 pounds, or about 2,911 gallons, during the flight.

CF-01 is the first Navy Joint Strike Fighter and will be conducting Aerial Refueling and performance testing while here at Pax River.
