UPDATE Community Rallies Around Family Of Chesapeake Beach Mother As Services Announced

CHESAPEAKE BEACH, Md. — A 37-year-old woman from Chesapeake Beach was killed in a single-vehicle crash Tuesday night in Calvert County, according to Maryland State Police.

Emergency personnel and troopers from the Maryland State Police Prince Frederick Barrack responded around 9:07 p.m., April 14, 2026, to eastbound Maryland Route 260 (Chesapeake Beach Road) near the East Mt. Harmony Road overpass for a reported crash.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, identified as Amanda Regan, 37, of Chesapeake Beach, was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to a preliminary investigation, Regan was operating a Jeep Wrangler when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle failed to navigate a left curve in the roadway. The Jeep crossed into the eastbound lanes, struck a guardrail, and ultimately came to rest against a tree off the roadway.

Eastbound lanes of Route 260 were closed for more than three hours as troopers conducted an on-scene investigation.

Deputies from the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office and personnel from the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration assisted with traffic control and road closures.

The Maryland State Police Crash Team is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
