WALDORF, Md. — Four adults were displaced early Friday after a garage fire spread into a home on Yellowtail Court in Waldorf.

The fire was reported around 4:15 a.m. June 5, 2026, in the 5700 block of Yellowtail Court.

Multiple callers reported a fire at a two-story single-family home. Crews were initially told there could be people trapped inside, but the homeowner later reported that no one was inside the residence.

Firefighters arrived to find heavy fire showing from the left side of the home, with fire throughout the garage area and extending toward the upper level. Crews began an interior attack from the front side while additional units established water supply and checked for extension.

The garage area suffered heavy fire damage, and firefighters continued searches and overhaul operations after knocking down the bulk of the fire.

One dog and one cat were found during the response. Their conditions were not immediately available.

No injuries were immediately reported.

The American Red Cross was requested to assist four adults, including two men and two women.

The Office of the State Fire Marshal was requested to respond. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
