ANNAPOLIS, Md. — The world’s largest rubber duck, a 60-foot behemoth affectionately referred to as “Mama Duck” by her fans and foes alike, will make her appearance at the Maryland Seafood Festival in Annapolis next year.
The annual festival will take place at Sandy Point State Park at 1100 E. College Parkway, Annapolis, on Saturday, Sept. 12, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 13, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The festival will feature Maryland favorites and traditions: an Oyster & Craft Beer Tent, the Crab Soup Cookoff, nonprofits supporting the Chesapeake Bay, live music, family activities, and Skipjack Heritage Days, which invites families to explore the stories of the bay through hands-on activities, exhibits, and a Sunday Skipjack race.
2026 also marks the festival’s 60th year, a major milestone and the perfect occasion to host Mama Duck.
The Seafood Festival is already a popular event, and organizers recommend buying tickets and parking as early as possible. This year, tickets might sell out even faster with the promise of getting a photo of the world’s largest duck perched on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay.
Mama Duck has been spotted in Southern Maryland, Virginia, and Delaware over the last few years and has delighted the many people who have visited her. This will be the duck’s first time in Annapolis.
You can get tickets to the Seafood Festival online and learn more about Annapolis’s other festivals coming this fall.
