Gregory Bronce Roper, a loving husband, father, brother and son, passed away on August 21st. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bronce and Nancy and brother Jeff. Greg is survived by his wife Pam, son Connor, and brother Gary, as well as several nieces and nephews.

After graduating from high school, Greg began his career at the Chalk Point power plant, where he worked as both a plant operator and chemist before retiring after more than 26 years. In retirement, Greg designed and managed the construction of his home in Charlotte Hall and founded two small businesses. He also worked for Charles County government for four years.

Greg was an avid outdoorsman with a lifelong love of hunting, fishing, and crabbing. He enjoyed traditional bow, crossbow, compound bow, and shotgun hunting, and especially loved fishing for rockfish. He also took pleasure in vegetable gardening, motorcycle racing, searching for arrowheads and fossils, and handcrafting replicas of Native American artifacts. Among his favorite pastimes was shooting sporting clays on the Eastern Shore with his son.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 27 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with prayers at 7:00 p.m. at Brinsfield Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. Interment will be on Friday, August 28 at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 3221 Mattawoman Beantown Road, Waldorf, MD 20601 at 11:00 a.m.
