LOVEVILLE, Md. – A 95-year-old woman was seriously injured Tuesday, December 17, 2024, in a two-vehicle collision in Loveville that required her to be airlifted to an area trauma center.

Emergency crews were dispatched at approximately 3:57 p.m. to the crash near the Loveville Post Office at 27780 Point Lookout Road. Upon arrival, first responders found the collision with the elderly woman trapped inside one of the vehicles.

Firefighters worked to extricate the trapped individual, completing the rescue within 15 minutes of the initial call. EMS evaluated the patient at the scene and requested a MEDEVAC due to the severity of her injuries.

Maryland State Police, Trooper 7 helicopter was called to the scene, and firefighters established a landing zone nearby at the State Highway Administration. The woman was airlifted to the UM Capital Region Medical Center for further treatment.
