HUNTINGTOWN, Md. — A Lusby woman is facing multiple drug charges after a traffic stop in Huntingtown led to the discovery of suspected crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia inside her vehicle, according to court documents.
Camry Ellen Broome, 34, of Lusby, was arrested on March 24, 2026, following a traffic stop at the intersection of Solomons Island Road (Route 4) and Ponds Wood Road.
A deputy initiated the stop after observing a vehicle displaying Virginia registration despite being associated with a Maryland address. Upon contact, Broome, who was the sole occupant, displayed nervous behavior, including shaking hands and a shaky voice during the interaction.
During questioning, Broome provided inconsistent statements about her travel plans, telling deputies she had been coming from a gas station and was heading to multiple locations, including her in-laws’ residence and a friend’s home.
Deputies asked Broome if there were any weapons or illegal items in the vehicle, and she consented to a search. While searching the vehicle, a deputy located a cut plastic straw with white powder residue inside a compartment in the dashboard, which is commonly used to ingest narcotics.
A further search uncovered a glass smoking device with residue inside a backpack on the rear passenger seat, along with materials consistent with drug use.
During a search of Broome’s person, deputies located a small plastic container concealed in her bra containing a white rock-like substance suspected to be crack cocaine.
According to investigators, Broome stated she had purchased the substance in Anne Arundel County and intended to deliver it to another individual, indicating the drugs were possessed with the intent to distribute.
Broome was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center.
She is charged with possession with intent to distribute a narcotic, multiple counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Court records show Broome was released on a $3,000 unsecured personal bond following her arrest.
A hearing is set for April 24, 2026 in Calvert District Court.
A booking photo of the suspect was provided to TheBayNet.com by the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office upon request.
