HOLLYWOOD, Md. —  The Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department honored members for outstanding service to the community and installed new officers on Tuesday.

The organization also received a $30,000 check from the Ladies Auxiliary of the Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department presented by HVFD-LA Cyndi Wood.

Unit citations were issued for the response to a potentially Carbon Monoxide incident in December, the May 2, rescue of an 83-year-old man who was injured after falling off a lawnmower and down an embankment, and the September 7 efforts to resuscitate two drowning victims at Greenwell State Park Beach.

Several members were also honored with length of service awards including:

  • Francis “Boots” Garner 50 years
  • Danny Davis 50 years
