HUGHESVILLE, Md. – Two Charles County residents have been displaced after a fire caused and estimated $150,000 worth of damaged to their home, Friday, April 20.
Around 12:30 p.m., firefighters responded to the 6400 block of Old Blandford Place, Hughesville for the report of a structure fire. Forty firefighters led by the Hughesville VFD arrived to the scene of a burning one-story family home and had the fire under control in 10 minutes. One adult female suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby medical center for treatment.
Investigation revealed that the fire originated in the bedroom but a cause has yet to be determined. Anyone with any information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Office of the State Fire Marshal, Southern Regional Office, at 443-550-6834.
