Irish Pub Killarney House Announces Month-Long 25th Anniversary Celebration 

DAVIDSONVILLE, Md. — A beloved authentic Irish pub in Davidsonville is getting ready to celebrate 25 years of “Irish craic” — Irish for a good time.

Killarney House Irish Restaurant and Pub is owned by Michael Galway and Anthony Clarke, co-owners of Annapolis pub Galway Bay. Back in 2001, Galway and Clarke discovered an empty building that had been burned out by a fire on Central Avenue in Davidsonville. The pair, both Irish immigrants who became citizens, saw the potential. They bought the building and got to work bringing Irish music, spirits and cuisine to Davidsonville.

The restaurant is dedicating the month of September to celebrating its anniversary with live music, entertainment, community fundraisers, special promotions and lots of nostalgia.

“We appreciate the unending support our customers and neighbors have shown us, not just through our 25 years here in South County, but at our other establishments as well,” Galway said in a press release through the Southern Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce.

“We owe a lot to the team here at Killarney House, led by General Manager Kerry Nagle, who has worked with us for over 20 years, having started at Galway Bay. It is through the leadership of people like Kerry that teams can be built on a solid foundation of hospitality and caring, and that is what we have at Killarney House,” Clarke added. “On behalf of Michael, Kerry and the entire Killarney House team, we’d like to send a big thank you to the community of which we are proud to be a member, and we look forward to another 25 years!”

In addition to their love for their community and their employees, Clarke and Galway believe in being good environmental neighbors. Most notable are the building’s rooftop solar panels, soaking up sunlight to provide electricity to the restaurant, and its 2019 Commercial Stewards Award from the Chesapeake Bay Trust.
