St. Mary’s County Bureau of Criminal Investigations arrested Dajuan Antwan Stafford, 23 from Lexington Park, and charged him with kidnapping, armed robbery, armed car jacking and theft on Aug. 26.
The arrest was the result of an ongoing investigation into an incident on July 12 at approximately 1:30 a.m. in the 7-Eleven store parking lot in Lexington Park, where a Lexington Park man reported that he was ordered at gun point by two males to drive them to Washington D.C. after using his ATM card to withdraw funds in Charles County.
Once in Washington D.C., two additional suspects were picked up and drugs were purchased and consumed by the suspects. The victim was then ordered to return to Lexington Park where he was ordered to drop the suspects off. The investigation continues and Stafford remains incarcerated at the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where he was already incarcerated on an unrelated charge.
The St. Mary’s County Bureau of Criminal Investigations is an investigative team comprised of Detectives from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office and the Maryland State Police, Leonardtown Barrack. The unit was established on July 1, 2003 and is based in Leonardtown, Maryland.
