Detectives with the Calvert Investigative Team (CIT) continue to investigate the murder of a 35-year-old Hispanic farm worker from Pink Hill, NC.

Adan Cruz-Ruizโ€™s body was found the morning of June 18 inside a travel trailer behind a house on Tuner Road, Lusby. ย He was killed by a shot from a small caliber handgun.

CIT detectives with the Maryland State Police and Calvert Sheriffโ€™s Office are seeking Louis Alan Salazar, 32, a Hispanic male also from Pink Hill, in connection with the shooting.

The suspect and the killed man were temporary farm workers in the area.

Sgt. R. King with the Calvert Investigative Team said Ruiz and his suspectedย murderer were friends and traveled to the area together.

King told The Bay Net on Tuesday she is unsure if alcohol played a factor in the murder, and would not comment on suspected motives.

Ruiz was killed sometime between 11 p.m. Saturday and 8:30 a.m. Sunday.

A gun was found on the scene, but it has not yet been determined if it was used to kill Ruiz, King said.

Ruiz is believed to be a citizen of the United States, but the status of suspect Salazar is currently unknown, King said.
