Born February 25, 1919 in Oakville, MD he was the son of the late Milton Berry and Annie Gray Berry.
John is survived by his wife, Julia Elizabeth Edwards Berry, his children; Debra Curtis and Judith Toney of Lexington Park, MD, Karen Owens of Mid West City, OK, Brenda Johnson of Aberdeen, MD, Elaine Williams, Delma Brown and Linda Fraley of Newport News, VA, John Berry, Jr. of Great Mills, MD, Shawn Berry of Lexington Park, MD, and Joseph Berry of Washington, DC, siblings; Carrie Miles of Hollywood, MD and Wallace Berry of Valley Lee, MD. He was preceded in death by his son, Samuel Johnson and nine brothers and sisters.
Family will receive friends on Friday, November 28, 2008 from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 22375 Three Notch Road, Lexington Park, MD 20653. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Jack Kennealy as the celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
