At 9:58 p.m., on February 18 Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to the 200 block of Westdale Drive in Waldorf for the report of a strong-arm robbery.
Investigation revealed the victim, a 19-year-old Mitchellville, Md., man, was in his vehicle parked at Super C, located at 11901 Business Park Drive in Waldorf, when the suspect asked him for a ride.
The victim declined the suspect’s request but the suspect entered the vehicle through the right rear side and grabbed the teen by the collar. The suspect told the man to drive to the 300 block of Trefoil Place in Waldorf.
The victim complied with the order and when they arrived, the suspect demanded money from the victim and searched the victim’s pockets. The suspect stole money from the victim’s wallet and then fled on foot.
Officers searched the area and located the suspect nearby on Holly Tree Drive near Hadley Circle. The suspect was identified as Kevin Morgan, 26, of Waldorf and arrested. He was charged with robbery, theft and assault and was being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before a district court commissioner. Officer C. Gass is investigating.
