At approximately 11:30 p.m. April 3, St. Maryโs County Patrol Officers responded to a 911 call for a stabbing at a residence in Lexington Park.
Upon arrival Officers immediately began tending to the stabbed victim, Thomas Dwayne Ford, 31, of Lexington Park.
Ford was suffering from stab wounds to his face, head and upper body. He was flown to Prince Georgeโs Shock Trauma by Trooper 7.
The suspect, Jeremy David Berry, 19, of Great Mills, barricaded himself inside a rear bedroom, still armed with the knife.
St. Maryโs County Sheriffโs Office Negotiators responded and communications with the Suspect began. Shortly thereafter, Berry surrendered to uniformed Officers outside.
Berry was treated and released at St. Maryโs Hospital for several self inflicted superficial wounds.
He was charged with First and Second Degree Assault and additional charges are pending a Stateโs Attorneyโs Office review.
