On Wednesday, June 14, 2017, St. Mary’s County Public Schools administration celebrated their outstanding partnerships with the community’s law enforcement agencies and expressed their appreciation for the support of law enforcement and school safety and security teams. Pictured below (left to right) is Sergeant Gresko, Trooper First Class Ruth, Lieutenant White and First Sergeant Trossbach.

At the ceremony, Sergeant Gresko and Trooper First Class Ruth were recognized for their commitments to Town Creek Elementary School and the Chesapeake Public Charter School respectively. TFC Ruth was awarded the St. Mary’s County Public Schools Trooper of the Year and Sergeant Gresko received a Certificate of Recognition.
Both Troopers were nominated by Lieutenant White. He said the following of his Troopers:

Sergeant Gresko (Town Creek Elementary School): “It is clear Sergeant Gresko not only takes his Town Creek responsibilities seriously but truly cares about the students and wellbeing. Sergeant Gresko should be recognized for his efforts in contributing to a safe and welcoming school environment.”

TFC Ruth (Chesapeake Public Charter a School): “She has remained approachable to the students, parents, and faculty and would help in any way possible with whatever she was asked to do. She has undoubtedly made a positive immediate impact on the Chesapeake Charter School Community and an immeasurable impact on the lives of the children who will take this positive interaction with the police with them as they move on. Trooper First Class Ruth should be recognized for her dedication and commitment to the safety and wellbeing of the Chesapeake Charter School Community.”

Both of these Troopers have expressed a strong desire to build a positive presence within these schools and to become a role model for all students in attendance. Please take a moment to congratulate our Troopers!
