A crash on the Thomas Johnson Bridge, shortly after 7 a.m. this morning, halted traffic both directions for nearly two hours.

A witness who was on the scene, only a few cars back from the crash, tells The Bay Net a small car and Ford F150 appeared to have collided head-on due to heavy front-end damge on both vehicles.

On person was flown from the scene to a regional trauma center by Maryland State Police helicopter.

Rescue personnel responded to the scene very quickly, said the witness, adding that an animal control truck also arrived, and a dog was heard barking.
