Motorcyclist Injured, Airlifted To Trauma Center Following Crash In Lexington Park

LEXINGTON PARK, Md. – On May 9, 2024, at approximately 12:47 p.m., emergency personnel responded to a serious motorized bike crash involving another vehicle in the area of North Essex Drive.

Upon arrival, crews found the motorcyclist lying on the side of the road near the sidewalk. EMS evaluated the patient on the scene and transported them to UM Capital Region Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the damaged vehicle remained on the scene for the entirety.

St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office’s Public Information Officer ALisa Casas states the crash was likely caused due to “operator error.” The unregistered motorbike pulled out in front of the car and citations are pending. There is significant damage to both the motorbike and vehicle.

  1. The driver of the mini bike has absolutely no insurance for the mini bike…
    Follow along …..
    If he has insurance , homeowners, renters or is a covered person under another persons insurance ,, this incident is not covered even under liability of any insurance , All polices state clearly operation of unlicensed mini bikes , go carts ,4 wheelers etc are not covered ,,, so thats why this is on operator of the mini bike or his parents if he is a minor …it’s on their dime(s)..
    this is why you dont operate unlicensed uninsured conveyances on the streets…
    Personal injuries plus damages add up fast …
