On July 14 at 7:16 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers initiated a traffic stop near Ripley Road and state Route 225 after observing a traffic violation.

Officers found drug paraphernalia inside the car and arrested the driver, Paul Joseph Harley, 26 of Nanjemoy, and an occupant, Shikea Williams, 26 of Pomfret.

Officers recovered cocaine, marijuana and prescription drugs with a street value of over $2800.

Harley and Williams were charged with possession with the intent to distribute controlled dangerous substances and possession of drug paraphernalia.

They were remanded to the Charles County Detention Center. Sgt. J. Stoddard and Officers M. Van Horn and M. O’Shields investigated.
