Annapolis, MD – Chesapeake Conservancy, host of the popular Kent Island webcam featuring celebrity osprey couple “Tom and Audrey,” has announced plans for the fourth annual “Welcome Back Osprey Party.” The party will take place on April 25, 2017. Chesapeake Conservancy recently launched the 2017 wildlife webcam season, now in partnership with explore.org. There are three live-streaming webcams that take viewers inside the nests of osprey, peregrine falcons, and great blue herons.
The party will feature ornithologist and filmmaker Jacob Steinberg, who will talk about a documentary he wrote, directed, and produced, called “Osprey.” The film follows a pair of ospreys that return to a nesting site in Greenwich, Conn. each spring to breed and raise the next generation of chicks. Steinberg will provide a behind-the-scenes look as well as a sneak preview of the upcoming documentary in its final stages of production.
Members of the public are invited to view the webcam and read the “Crazy Osprey Family” blog at http://chesapeakeconservancy.org/explore/wildlife-webcams/osprey/
