Parking Garage Collapse Investigation Underway At Empire Towers In Anne Arundel County

GLEN BURNIE, Md. — Emergency crews are investigating a partial collapse involving a parking garage at Empire Towers in Anne Arundel County.

The incident was reported Wednesday afternoon, July 9, 2026, in the 7300 block of Ritchie Highway.

Anne Arundel County Professional Fire Fighters reported crews were operating at the scene of a structural collapse investigation involving the parking garage. Initial reports indicated a large section of flooring collapsed on a lower level.

Workers were reported to be on scene at the time of the incident. All interior levels were being evacuated as emergency crews assessed the structure.

Secondary searches were also underway in the garage near the collapse area.

No injuries had been reported as of the initial update.

Motorists are being encouraged to avoid the area and use alternate routes while emergency personnel work at the scene.

Drivers and pedestrians near the area are urged to use caution and follow directions from public safety personnel.
