The Patuxent Partnership’s Annual Meeting will be on Wednesday, October 28, 8:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. at the Southern Maryland Higher Education Center and will be open to the public.
Jeffrey Wells, Executive Director, Cyber Development in the Maryland Department of Business & Economic Development and Founder and Executive Director, Connected Warrior Foundation, will share his efforts in support of our veterans.
The Connected Warrior Foundation (CWF) was founded in 2012 to fund projects and programs and support activities to empower wounded veterans. CWF serves veterans who have suffered severe physical and/or emotional wounds (PTSD) received during combat on behalf of the United States of America. CWF raises awareness and support though technology, events, blogs, resources, and community outreach. In 2012 CWF partnered with Amazon to deliver Kindle Fire devices to wounded veterans at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, San Antonio Military Medical Center and Balboa Naval Hospital. CWF has recently partnered with Google to provide Nexus tablet devices as well.
Bonnie Elward, Executive Director, Southern Maryland Community Resources (SMCR), will discuss upcoming events and volunteer opportunities with SMCR. SMCR promotes opportunities for fun, friendship, and inclusion into the local community for persons with developmental differences. Programs are held throughout the tri-county area.
Executive Director Bonnie Green will provide a “year in review” of TPP initiatives, outreach, and programs from 2014. Attendees will be the first to receive TPP’s 2014 Annual Report.
“Our annual meeting is a great opportunity for TPP members and the community to network and learn about future plans for The Patuxent Partnership as well as other organizations in Southern Maryland,” said Bonnie Green.
Check-in is at 8:00 a.m. and briefings begin at 8:30 a.m. There is no cost to attend. To register, or for more information, please visit www.paxpartnership.org.
